Warehouse Controller
Job Description
Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff. Monitoring and enforcing compliance with company policies and safety regulations to ensure the safety of all warehouse employees.
Responsibilities
- Receive details & description of cargo to be received / delivered, plan for space allocation of cargo in the shed/yard; based on the description of goods in coordination with the Supervisor – Shed & Yard a day prior to operations.
- Monitor cargo movement and anticipate possible problems arising and resolve any problems faced during cargo movement in warehouse.
- Inform Supervisor about cargo received with mixed marks and coordinate with Supervisor to ascertain the order & stacking pattern of storage in the yard based on cargo type & properties.
- Ensure de-segregation of cargo if required and requested by the customer and ensure that cargo is segregated according to the ‘marks’ mentioned by the agent and is stacked properly in the yard area.
- Arrange for protection of the cargo on special requests from agent and maintain records for the same.
- Maintain a constant coordination with the Supervisor and provide updates on the situation in the warehouse.
