Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferable. (Advanced degree is desirable.

Responsibilities

Knowledge And/or Experience

  • 15+ years of relevant experience as a Valve delivery package lead/manager.
  • Good Engineering Practice applicable to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Understanding of the Piping International Codes and Standards
  • Experience in working with EPC Contractors and Suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of large bore valves manufacturing and understanding of the extensive testing requirements.

Job Purpose

  • The Valve Package Delivery Lead position requires solid technical and organizational experience with respect to valves manufacturing and testing, and with the ability to solve problem, to identify the risks and to propose mitigations measures.
  • Responsible for Valve Package delivery in accordance with the Project schedule and the Project technical requirements. The scope consists of the delivery of actuated on/off valves and HIPPS valves for the integration into new offshore platforms at the construction yard.
  • To assist the novation to the EPC Contractor of the valves purchase orders placed by Company
  • To safely and efficiently supervise the activities executed by the Valves Suppliers in close relationship with the EPC Contractor and the Project Team to ensure the highest level of quality and to secure the on-time valves delivery to the construction site.
  • To ensure that all procedures, design input, material, equipment’s, inspections are reviewed, approved, delivered and implemented in due time to support the delivery schedule
  • Prepare and provides routine verbal and written progress reports to the Head of Project Engineering and Project Management team and closely monitor the progress performance of the valve suppliers. Any risk of delay and/or non-conformance shall be immediately reported to the Head of project engineering and mitigations measures shall be proposed.

Key Accountabilities (Duties include but not limited to)

  • Understanding & familiarity of the Project scope and the technical, quality & safety requirements including the applicable regulations, the Project specific Design Basis and philosophies.
  • Ensures full implementation of Project requirements and control deliverables in terms of engineering, quality, schedule & HSE related to the valves package.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Structural, Piping, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Quality, HSE and Procurement, etc) to discuss & close pending items to proceed with manufacturing.
  • Drives to obtain all necessary input required for the timely and complete progress of all activities from design, manufacturing, testing, deliveries, pre-commissioning & commissioning. Manage supplier/sub-supplier & supplier deliverables – understanding the deliverables required on the specific stage of manufacturing/testing & ensure they are available & approved as needed.
  • Manage kick-off meetings & pre-Inspection meetings – ensuring they are completed as required & to start manufacturing activities.
  • Full understanding of the challenges associated to the large bore valves manufacturing including design, procurement, sub-Vendors, welding, assembly, testing, handling and preservation.
  • Track Supplier manufacturing schedule & shall be familiar with the pre-requisite & durations of the specific and critical activities. Identify any risks & provide preventive or mitigation actions to ensure contractual deliveries and technical requirements are met.
  • Close follow up of the interfaces between Company, EPC Contractor and Valves Suppliers. Any risk of delay and/or non-conformance shall be immediately reported to the Head of project engineering and mitigations measures shall be proposed.
  • Monitors material acquisition including requisitioning, fabrication, testing and transportation of large bore valves.
  • Liaise as required with Company’s Technical Authorities (TA) and committees and coordinate any management of change process (MOC) relating to large bore valves.
