Ticketing & Reservation Officer – Ali Bin Ali

Responsibilities
Ticketing Process:  Airlines staff

  • Booking: Customers can book tickets through Airline GDS system, including airline online ( NDC )
  • Payment: Payment can be made via credit/debit cards, cash, or other accepted methods or through direct to ABA Cashier.
  • Ticket Issuance: Once payment is confirmed, the ticket is issued and sent to the customer via email or physical mail. The ticket includes a unique booking reference (PNR) and details of the flight. Email or Hand Over to customer.
  • Reissue/Refunds: For changes or cancellations, customers can request a ticket reissue or refund according to the airline's policies. Fees may apply based on fare rules and conditions.

Reservation System:

  • Global Distribution Systems (GDS): Airlines use GDS platforms like Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport to manage reservations and connect with travel agents.
  • Direct Booking Systems: Airlines have their own booking systems on their websites and mobile apps for direct reservations.
  • Reservation Codes: Each reservation is assigned a unique PNR code used to retrieve booking details and manage changes.

Reservation Management / Axillary service as Special handling on board.

  • Seat Selection: Customers can select their seats during booking or later through the airline's website or app.
  • Special Requests: Requests for special services (e.g., assistance for disabled passengers, meal preferences) can be made during booking or afterward.
  • Check-In: Online or at the airport, passengers check in for their flight, receive boarding passes, and confirm their seat.

Customer Service:

  • Support: Airlines provide customer support through various channels, including phone, email, and chat, to assist with booking issues, changes, or cancellations.
  • Frequent Flyer Programs: Many airlines offer loyalty programs that reward frequent travelers with benefits like priority boarding, additional baggage allowance, and mileage points.

Documentation:

  • Travel Documents: Passengers need to present valid identification and travel documents at check-in and boarding. For international flights, a passport and visa may be required.
  • E-Tickets: Electronic tickets are now standard and are stored digitally, reducing the need for physical ticketing.
