Job Description

Ensure that all industrial cleaning, sandblasting, plate stripping, wax masking, electroplating, metal oxidation and gun bluing is accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.

Responsibilities
• Assist in the development of industrial cleaning, sandblasting, plate stripping, wax masking, electroplating, metal oxidation and gun bluing CM job plans. • Perform quality maintenance actions as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program. • Ensure strict compliance to the storage and disposal guidelines for all hazardous materials in accordance with environmental directives and host company rules and regulations. • Perform cyclic inspections and maintenance of all holding tanks and their associated accessories, including the submission of facility related service requests. • Mixes and tests all coating solutions and replenishes holding tanks as required. • Determines coating requirements and conformance using precision measuring instruments. • Prepares items for electroplating by placing them in both cleaning and conductive solutions. • Determine the amount of electrical current required and the time needed to accomplish electroplating. • Position items to be electroplated in a frame or suspend them from the negative and positive terminals of the power supply. • Rinse all coated items in cleansing solutions and dry with a cloth or centrifugal drier. • Use precision measuring instruments to determine the thickness of applied coating(s) to ensure conformance as per the OEM specifications. • Ensure that all precision measurement instruments are maintained and calibrated in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical data. • Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms, etc. • Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
Desired Candidate Profile

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. • A minimum of two years of experience performing electroplating, metal oxidisation and/or gun bluing is required. • Previous military experience or formal chemistry and/or electroplating training is an advantage. • The ability to interpret complex blueprints, technical diagrams and schematics is preferred. • Previous experience using special tools, precision measuring instruments and electroplating equipment is an advantage. • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and SAP is preferred. • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required. • Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s and forklift license.
