Responsibilities
- To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English
- To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience
Main Accountabilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver 25 hours of English teaching tailored to diverse customer groups and learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback to support learner autonomy.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop, evaluate, and enhance English courses and materials.
- Engage in continuous professional development to uphold high teaching standards and promote best ELT practices for the British Council.
- Ensure safeguarding and guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy for the following areas:
- Child Protection
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
- Anti-bribery
- Information management
- Health and safety
Salary & Benefits International mobility contract (residing outside Egypt):
- Salary
- Local salary: 14,924 EGP (Gross)
- Sterling supplement: GBP 315 (net) per month
- Housing allowance - We assist with the cost of finding rented accommodation:
- Unaccompanied - 4000 EGP
- Accompanied (1 dependent) - 5500 EGP.
- Accompanied (2 or more dependents) - 7500 EGP.
Local contract (residing in Egypt):
- Salary
- Local salary: 14,924 EGP (Gross)
- As per applicable laws, the British Council will deduct contributions from your monthly salary at rates determined by the National Social Insurance Authority.
- Annual leave allowance: 35 days per year of paid leave, plus 16 public holidays
- Medical Insurance: You and your family will be covered with the Council’s Group Medical Insurance, managed by Allianz, offering comprehensive coverage including medical treatment, hospital care, repatriation costs, and personal liability.

- Duration: 2 years
- Renewable period: 1 year
- Contracted working hours: 37.5 per week

Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications Essentials
- Bachelor's degree (in any discipline)
- Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL
Work Experience Essentials
- 2 years post-certificate i.e., CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL experience
- Experience in teaching relevant age groups:
- Adults General English (800+ hours)
- Young adults aged 5-17 (400+ hours
Right to Work in the country (residing outside of Egypt)
- Relocation support is available for non-Egyptian candidates.

- Applicants require a passport valid for six months.
