Description
- Provide support to the team from a direct & indirect tax perspective, adding value in a multi-disciplinary context and providing in-depth knowledge and advice on VAT/WHT as well as manage UAE CT implementation.
- Manage operational direct and indirect tax compliance obligations in the GCC to always ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Review and advise on the VAT & WHT treatment of transactions.
- Liaise / manage the advisory relationships with external tax advisors and interact with other transaction advisors.
- Manage VAT/WHT compliance process, including registrations, returns, refunds and correspondence with the Regulatory Authorities.
- Pre-month closing review of tax codes for AR and AP.
- Review tax compliance related registrations, returns and refund requests for the group, including preparation of partial exemption calculations and annual adjustments as needed.
- Support in the development of policies and procedures and support their implementation and maintenance so that tax activities meet standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
- Ensure that all reports are prepared timely and accurately.
- Review and finalization of Transfer Pricing Master & Local file
- Review and finalization of Economic Substance Regulation (ESR)
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Oversee tax planning, preparation, and filing
- Provide administrative support for the preparation, compilation, and submission of information for Company external Audits.
- Keep a detailed record of the Company's tax records and documents.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date database and electronic filing system.
- Ensure compliance of the Company policies and procedures
- Comply with the UAE Labour Law, local and GCC tax laws, and other relevant rulings.

Requirements:
- Bachelors in Business, Finance or related field
- Accounting or tax specialization is an asset
- At least 7 years of experience in GCC Taxation and experience with corporate taxation (preferred)
- Experience gained through employment with Big 4 accounting firms or law firms, international work with a top-tier taxation advisory firm and UAE based historic experience is an advantage
- Able to perform tasks independently, without or less assistance.
- Maintains acceptable and punctual attendance and work time behaviour.
