Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of our computer systems and networks. This role involves supporting system infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance system performance and security.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance: Manage and maintain the organization's server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
  • Configuration Management: Configure and deploy new systems and applications, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and effectively.
  • Security Management: Implement and monitor security measures to protect the organization's systems and data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other threats.
  • Backup and Recovery: Oversee regular system backups and develop recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing their system-related inquiries and issues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and apply necessary updates and patches to ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT staff and departments to support projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role. ITIL awareness is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are preferred.
