Job Description
- The category Supervisor’s role is pivotal in supporting the Category Manager in managing a specific product category or group of related categories within our organization. Will assist in implementing category strategies, ensuring efficient product portfolio management, and contributing to the growth, profitability, and market share of the category. This role involves data analysis, consumer insights, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Category Strategy Implementation: Support the execution of the category strategy developed by the FMCG Category Manager or Category Manager. Assist in conducting market research, consumer insights analysis, and competitive assessments to aid strategy implementation.
- Product Portfolio Management: Assist in managing the product portfolio within the category, including SKU optimization, new product launches, and inventory management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability and streamline supply chain operations.
- Sales and Profitability: Contribute to achieving sales and profitability targets set for the category. Assist in analyzing sales data, pricing strategies, and promotional performance to maximize revenue and margins.
- Consumer Insights and Marketing: Utilize market research, consumer feedback, and data analytics to gain insights into consumer preferences within the category. Collaborate with the marketing team to execute marketing strategies and campaigns effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance, to execute category strategies. Participate in ensuring alignment across departments to drive category growth
- Vendor and Supplier Relations: Assist in managing relationships with suppliers and vendors. Support negotiations related to contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure efficient supply and cost-effectiveness.
- Promotions and Merchandising: Contribute to the development and execution of promotional plans and merchandising strategies to boost category sales. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns.
- Budget Management: Assist in managing the category budget and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Participate in monitoring and reporting on financial performance against the budget.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Support efforts to ensure that products within the category meet quality and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in demand planning, supply chain, or related roles within the FMCG industry.
- A minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in the same capacity
- Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
