Job Description
Be responsible for developing and issuing procurement packages that include Statements of Work, Subcontractor Submittal requirements, Technical and Quality Assurance requirements, acceptance testing and receipt inspection requirements, Security-related requirements and Environmental, Safety and Health requirements.
Responsibilities
Strategic:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for procurement activities to support construction project objectives and optimize cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to develop procurement strategies that align with project goals, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, risk mitigation, and cost-saving initiatives in procurement activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to inform procurement strategies and adapt to changing circumstances.
Financial:
- Develop and manage procurement budgets, forecasts, and expenditure plans for construction projects.
- Analyze pricing, negotiate contracts, and establish terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to maximize cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor procurement costs and expenditures, identify variances, and implement cost control measures as necessary to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor performance and conduct audits to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and pricing agreements.
Technical:
- Apply technical expertise in procurement processes, including supplier and subcontractor selection, contract negotiation, and technical evaluation.
- Review technical specifications and requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Utilize procurement software and tools to streamline processes, track supplier and subcontractor performance, and manage contract documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on procurement-related technical matters, including technical assessments, design reviews, and quality control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, construction management, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
- Certification Preferable : Professional certification in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields preferred (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Purchasing Manager).
- Experience · Minimum of 12- 15 years of experience in procurement roles within the construction industry, with a focus on strategic procurement planning and contract management.
