Job Description

The ELV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including but not limited to CCTV, access control, public address systems, fire alarm systems, and structured cabling. The role ensures that all ELV systems are installed and serviced in compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:1. Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install and configure ELV systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and structured cabling.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for ELV systems.
  • Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and system documentation.

2. System Testing & Commissioning:

  • Conduct testing and commissioning of ELV systems to verify functionality.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to rectify installation or system issues.
  • Prepare and submit testing and commissioning reports.

3. Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions or hardware issues.
  • Provide technical support to clients on-site or remotely.
  • Ensure timely resolution of service requests to maintain customer satisfaction.

4. Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure adherence to Omani regulations and international standards.
  • Ensure installations comply with client specifications and project guidelines.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

5. Coordination & Documentation:

  • Coordinate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and service activities.
  • Provide feedback on system improvements and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements:Educational Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • ELV-specific certifications (e.g., CCTV, fire alarm systems, or access control) are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in installing and maintaining ELV systems.
  • Hands-on experience with brands like Honeywell, Hikvision, Bosch, or similar is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting system schematics and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of ELV systems, components, and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Other Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Omani regulations and safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Oman.
  • Basic understanding of Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
