Senior Presales Engineer – Confidential Company
Responsibilities
- Design and provide cost estimations for a range of ELV systems, including Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA), and Audio-Visual (AV) systems.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on project details provided by the client.
- Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain the most competitive quotes.
- Ensure designs and estimates comply with relevant standards and client specifications.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and other team members during project execution.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies in ELV systems.
- Prepare technical documentation and assist in tender submissions.
- Provide value engineering solutions when needed to optimize project costs.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and estimation of ELV systems including Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, PAVA, and AV systems.
- Proven track record in preparing detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for medium to large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Experience conducting site surveys and translating findings into technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for creating and interpreting technical designs and layouts.
- Familiarity with vendor pricing, supply chains, and sourcing the best technical solutions at competitive rates.
- In-depth knowledge of Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, PAVA, AV systems, and related technologies.
- Strong ability to calculate costs, prepare BOQs, and estimate labor and materials for projects.
- Ability to liaise with suppliers and vendors to source competitive quotes while maintaining product quality.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NFPA, BICSI) and local codes for ELV systems.
- Proficiency in identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing value engineering solutions during the project estimation phase.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Capable of preparing clear technical documentation, reports, and presentations for client and tender submissions.
