Job Description

Our client, a family of unique food concepts focused on sustainability and culinary excellence, operates premium international brands as well as popular local brands known for their authenticity and original Kuwaiti taste. They are seeking a dynamic and energetic Senior Hostess (European national) to join their team.

Responsibilities

Guest Service - Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction. - Design weekly schedules for the Host/ess team and provide them to management. - Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to guests. - Answer phones using appropriate language. - Make reservations in the software system. - Answer guest questions regarding menu details, directions, etc. - Contact guests/parties before arrival to confirm reservations. Seating Guests - Greet guests and escort them to tables while providing menus. Coordination - Coordinate dining room personnel activities to ensure prompt and courteous service. - Contact concierges to increase reservations and build local relationships. Administration - Filter and propose future events to the owner/manager for approval. - Prepare meeting arrangements. Support Staff - Assist servers during meal periods. - Assist with restaurant maintenance as designated by manager. - Maintain venue landscape or contact a landscape company ensure it is in acceptable condition.

Requirements:

- Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse guest types. - Ability to remain calm and well-organized under pressure while working quickly. - Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple tables at a time. - Keeps emotions under control. - Excellent time management skills. - Strong verbal and written skills. - Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. - Ability to properly operate the telephone and all software used for the reservation system. - Basic knowledge of Food and beverage. - Ability to respond promptly to customer needs. - Ability to communicate effectively with guests and Team Members. - Must speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. - Basic knowledge of POS system - Proficient in OpenTable reservations system - Adaptable to a changing work environment. - Local knowledge of the community (attractions, activities, etc.) - English language and professional communications skills are required. EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS: - High School diploma – required. - Hospitality or customer service experience – required. - Minimum of 1 year experience in Front of House Food and Beverage operations – preferred. Salary: KWD 600 to 750 per month inclusive of fixed allowances. Additional benefits: Housing, Transportation, Insurance, Relocation, Laundry, Paid Leave, etc.
