Job Description

Senior electrical engineers design, develop, upgrade, test, and monitor electrical components and machinery. They supervise other engineers, generate detailed drawings, compile reports, and mentor new apprentices. They also conduct research and participate in ongoing learning.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares and reviews fire alarm system engineering deliverables such as design basis, design drawings, datasheets, calculations and material and equipment specifications.
  • Prepares specifications and materials requisition for purchase of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Resolves specialty related electrical engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
  • Analyzes problems, organizes investigations and determines specific design criteria.
  • Recommends increases in resources and special equipment.
  • Advises and instructs team members in the use of new or specialized procedures.
  • Determines and schedules work priorities.
  • Revises design specifications and suggests new alternatives.
  • Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Conducts field investigations and prepares reports for finding or issues.
  • Develops progress reports.
  • Prepares manhour estimates for projects.
  • Provides technical guidance to co-workers.
  • Organizes and supervises work within a small work unit composed of employees within own discipline or a related area of specialization.
  • Determines the training and development needs of employees. Approves timesheets.

Requirements:

  • BS in Engineering and registered as a professional engineer with significant experience of 10 years.
  • Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and is recognized as specialist in electrical engineering on large to mega projects.
