Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Wood has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Qatar on a long-term basis.
Responsibilities
- Self-starter and an ability to produce electrical deliverables with little input or guidance
- Good understanding with respect to international codes and standards along with their application
- High level of competency with respect to electrical system design (Single line diagrams [SLD’s], protection and control schemes for example)
- Experience of developing and issuing the following deliverables – Electrical Design Basis, Specifications and Standards, Load Schedules, SLD’s, Protection and metering schemes, Calculations (Load, cable sizing, battery, equipment sizing), familiarity with power system studies (short circuit, load flow, transient, motor starting and harmonic studies), relay settings, power adequacy, lighting/earthing/lightning protection deliverables, electrical layouts (equipment, cable, tray, duct and trench), checking of area classification layouts, data sheets for major equipment and preparation of enquiry packages for HV and LV switchgear, transformers, drive systems, UPS
- Reviewing and checking of these electrical deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with the scope of work prior to issue Familiarity with SKM, ETAP or SPEL software packages
