Senior Design Manager – Hill International (Middle East) Ltd.

Responsibilities
  • Build a team of managers and engineers that can effectively support the business needs and requirements
  • Involve all relevant stakeholders in project scope and objective development.
  • Set communication strategy and develop communication matrix with all stakeholder's correspondence and documentations.
  • Provide guidance to the team to review and critique during each stage of the consultant's strategic masterplan and building designs and ensure coordination Manage the relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to stakeholders.
  • Implement the communication strategy and matrix
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff.
  • Manage project resource allocation.
  • Provide direction and support to PTS engineers
  • Measure technical teams performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Able to put together a project budget, managing how the fund is spent and controlling costs.
  • Ensure processing the invoices on time after ensuring receiving the project deliverable.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Ensure Safety compliance.
  • Support Assets Briefs development, review and conducting gap analysis on applicable codes and established design criteria
  • Review and critique of the Tender Documentation and the various proposals from specialist sub-contractors
  • Reviews of the potential innovation and value engineering solutions
  • Coordinate with various Sectors and Departments to insure properly integrated plans
  • Design review from concept level to the IFC stage including providing technical guidance, review and analysis of designs, studies, sustainability, calculations, drawings, and specifications
Desired Candidate Profile
  • 20-25 years of relevant experience in projects management, planning and design management from inception to completion in large scale complex mixed-use masterplans and urban development projects
  • Strong skills and knowledge in engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, design details and specification
  • Familiar with the relevant building codes, standards, permits, sustainability regulations and software applications (including Revit, ArcGIS, SSA etc.
  • Track record as a team player with sound multi-disciplinary organisation with design review experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Strong English language communication, presentation and report writing skills
