Job Description
A Senior Accountant is a mid-level professional who oversees the company’s accounting department. They take ownership for every aspect that goes into producing an organization’s report, from cost-productivity and margins all the way down to expenditures.
Responsibilities
- Assists in departmental accounting function and coordinate the completion of periodic financial statement and record keeping.
- Over all functions of accounting activities and formulation / implementation of quality system in accounting department.
- Maintain records of contracts ( i.e. projects, Utilities, credit facilities & brokers).
- Advise on accounting problems and assists subordinate employees with work .
- Assists in formulation of work measures to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensures that records for internal and external audits are prepared.
- Assist in preparing various reports and studies.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly.
- Develop and maintain regular reports via the company’s accounting system.
- Recommends changes in accounting systems and procedures
- Fixed assets record processing and reporting.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations. Reconcile payroll, Leave, End of service benefits prior to process payment and transmission.
