Job Description
The School Counsellor plays a critical role in supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic success. The social worker collaborates with students, families, and school staff to address issues that may affect students’ ability to learn, providing essential services such as counseling, crisis intervention, and connecting families with community resources.
Responsibilities
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) is preferred.
- Certification: Licensed or certified as a School Social Worker, if required by local regulations.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a school setting or related field preferred.
- Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families. Knowledge of child and adolescent development. Proficiency in crisis intervention and case management. Familiarity with community resources and social services.
