Job Description
To oversee and manage the research projects over several research lines for the research center
Responsibilities
- Participates in setting the research plans and research targets of the center
- Monitors progress of all research projects in the center
- Acts as a technical focal point for all research projects in the center
- Participates in identifying new projects and new funding sources, prepares budgets and offers for new opportunities
- Assists the director in research resources utilization and load distribution planning
- Leads the tender/award process to submit efficient offers/budgets to center customers
- Facilitates communication with academic and research Principle Investigators and their teams
- Works closely with internal scientific, facilities, purchasing, business and legal team’s members to ensure project timelines and goals have been communicated and coordinated
- Organizes and manages logistics and resources for projects so services are provided effectively, efficiently and timely
- Develops and implements project management practices and aspects such as project planning, developing project specific milestones and timelines, project tracking and reporting on goals and deliverables to all project stakeholders
- Maintains relationships with other customers regionally and internationally
- Responsible for anticipating and resolving project timeline and resource conflicts
- Observe work in progress to insure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications
- Provides regular reports on projects status
- Preparation of various types presentations regarding the center research projects as needed and assigned
- Participate in recruitment of research staff, their evaluation and professional development
- Perform other tasks and duties that may be occasionally required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in science, business, or related field is required, PhD preferred.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written, is necessary.
- Strong knowledge and experience with qualitative methods designs (collect, record, and analyze data)
- Strong knowledge in preparing research proposals and submitting funding applications
- Teach courses in the area of expertise
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a scientific environment with progressive responsibilities for projects
