B.E Graduate or
Equivalent; Diploma in Mechanical.
Minimum 8 years in oil & gas field with at least 3 years’ experience of those years in
supervision of welding Inspection offshore projects. SAUDI ARAMCO approval CBT (MUST HAVE).
Inspector shall be certified as an American Welding Society CWI, CSWIP 3.2 Certified Welding
Inspector, or approved equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Implements inspection activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plan and Inspection / Test Procedures for inspection piping fabrication in offshore hookup projects.
- Maintains a record of job specification and/or acceptance criteria of the items they cover for inspection. Check and ensure that the measuring test instruments being used during test and inspection operations are properly calibrated with valid certificates and stickers.
- Ensures that all aspects of quality control in relation to contract documents are identified and observed.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the 2015 version of ISO 9001 QMS requirements, engineering discipline drawings, standards, material specifications, construction methods and QC inspection and test procedures.
- Direct work experience and demonstrated thorough knowledge of engineering codes and standards with welding and testing requirements required for the work, such as ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4 & B31.8; ASME BPVC (Sections V and IX); API 620, API 650 and AWS D1.1. Able to develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Issue Non‐Conformance Report (NCR) to items not found acceptable and submit to QC
- Supervisor Mechanical for appropriate disposition.
- Prepares Punch List during the final stage of mechanical completion and submit to concern
- Production Units for corrective actions.
- Guiding production skilled workers for dimensional accuracy and work / product quality. Provide support and advice to the construction personnel in relation to Project Quality.
- Updates himself of File Record of Documentation Inspection covering the following:
- Document Control or issues of drawings, specifications, etc.
- Materials Receiving Inspection and Vendor Non‐Conformance.
- Storage and Maintenance covering reports on handing, storage and preservation.
Secondary Duties:
- Reports to QC manager and responsible for the discharge of his duties and responsibilities as QC Inspector along his area discipline assignment. Coordinates with Production Units or construction manager for the required QC Inspections during the work process.
- Follow up the welding activities and ensure proper records are maintained (welding/NDE/inspection records follow‐up).
