Job Description

QC Inspector Mechanical – Al Samamat Industrial Services Co Ltd

Responsibilities
1. Inspection and Quality Control:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of valves and mechanical components before, during, and after overhauling, removal, installation, and testing.
  • Verify that all work performed adheres to project specifications, technical drawings, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Inspect incoming materials and components to ensure they meet the required quality criteria before they are used in shutdown activities.

2. Testing and Verification:

  • Ensure that pressure testing and other functional tests on valves are carried out according to the relevant procedures and standards. as per API
  • Document and verify test results, ensuring that they meet the required performance criteria.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, tests, and quality audits performed during shutdown activities.
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other quality documentation to the QC Supervisor and Project Manager.
  • Ensure that all documentation is properly filed and stored for future reference.

4. Compliance and Standards Adherence:

  • Ensure that all work complies with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, including safety standards.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with the quality management system (QMS) and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Identify any deviations from quality standards and work with the operations team to implement corrective actions.

5. Collaboration with Operations Team:

  • Work closely with the Site Engineer, Mechanical Foreman, and other team members to ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the shutdown process.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and operators on quality-related matters.
  • Participate in pre-job meetings and post-job reviews to address quality concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.

6. Non-Conformance Management:

  • Identify and document any non-conforming work or materials during inspections.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to investigate the root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure that non-conformances are resolved to prevent recurrence.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze inspection and test results to identify trends and areas for improvement in the quality control process.
  • Suggest enhancements to QC procedures and methodologies to improve overall quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality performance of the shutdown activities.

8. Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure that all QC activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Report any safety or environmental incidents observed during inspections and testing.
  • Ensure that all QC personnel are following safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Desired Candidate Profile

The QC Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all shutdown activities related to valve overhauling, removal, installation, and inspection meet the required quality standards. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and audits at various stages of the shutdown process, ensuring that all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The QC Inspector will work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to ensure that all quality control protocols are adhered to, and any deviations are promptly addressed.
