We are looking for a proactive and experienced Purchase Officer with a strong background in the contracting industry. The ideal candidate will manage procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services necessary for various projects.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project managers and site engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
- Stay updated on market trends, material availability, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring all procurement activities are documented and compliant with company policies.
- Collaborate with finance and logistics teams to resolve any procurement-related issues.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Purchase Officer in the contracting or construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of local suppliers, market conditions, and industry standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
