Purchase Officer – Bin Arbaid Holding & Subsidiaries

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Identify, source, and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors to meet project specifications.
  • Negotiate and secure optimal terms and pricing with suppliers, ensuring favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services in line with project schedules.
  • Address and resolve any supplier-related issues or discrepancies promptly to avoid project delays.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new supplier options.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to assess purchasing needs and provide timely procurement solutions.
  • Stay informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting procurement practices.
  • Upon receipt of a material takeoff or purchase requisition, thoroughly review the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), project drawings, and specifications. Once details are confirmed, issue requests for quotations to reputable vendors.
  • Obtain competitive quotations, prepare detailed price comparisons, and coordinate with the Procurement Manager to negotiate and finalize vendor selections.
  • Following management approval of the price comparison, issue the purchase order and proceed with procurement.
  • Track purchase requisitions daily, ensuring timely conversion into purchase orders.
  • Maintain meticulous records of purchasing data, including pricing and approved vendor lists.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
  • Ensure cost-effective procurement of materials, parts, goods, and services while meeting project timelines.
  • Confirm that materials and services are delivered in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
  • Consistently achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
  • Certification in supply chain management or purchasing.
  • Experience in the same or similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in using purchasing software and tools.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and any additional language is a plus.
