Patient Care Assistant – United for Manpower Solutions
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Help with mobility, including transferring patients in and out of beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, addressing their needs with empathy and respect.
- Assist patients with communication, ensuring their needs and concerns are effectively communicated to the healthcare team.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Assist with patient hygiene and maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times.
- Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials and sharps.
- Accurately document patient care activities, observations, and changes in patient condition in accordance with facility policies.
- Report any significant changes in patient health or behavior to nursing staff promptly.
- Work closely with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans as needed.
- Support nursing staff with basic medical procedures and treatments, as directed, including collecting specimens and assisting with diagnostic tests.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies for patient use.
