Network Team Lead

• Lead and manage a team of network engineers and associated staff, setting clear objectives and monitoring team performance.
• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
• Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
• Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installation.
• Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
• Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Arrange scheduled upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
• Document network layouts and configurations and keep these documents up to date.
• Ensure data and system security through regular audits and compliance checks.
• Respond to network-related issues promptly and resolve escalated issues as required.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
• Mentor and develop staff through training plans and opportunities for growth.
• Collaborate with other departments to determine and address their network needs and requirements.
• Manage and report on allocation of IT budget.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) is preferred.
• Proven experience in a network administrator role for at least 5 years, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership position.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
• Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS).
• Sharp troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to see potential issues and proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure accessibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
