Job Description
An excellent overseas opportunity has come up for a STEM tutor with a specialism in Mathematics and Statistics to join the Study Group team. You will be responsible for teaching predominantly Mathematics and Statistics modules to students on preparatory programmes including undergraduate foundation and pre-masters courses. There may be an opportunity to teach other STEM subjects depending on your interest and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules offered by International Study Centre.
- Prepare and deliver teaching on Blended Delivery programmes including synchronous and asynchronous input for pre-recorded lectures, weekly tasks, live input, seminars/ tutorial sessions and drop-ins with a normal teaching load of up to 25 hours per week (based on standard delivery model).
- Write and prepare module examinations, marking rubrics and other forms of formative and summative assessment.
- Mark students’ formative and summative assessment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including during one to one tutorials/ LCs and through regular student reports (usually RPAGs).
- Writing additional reports for sponsored students if and when required.
- Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions.
- Track students’ academic journey, and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support on-going learning.
- Act as a Personal Tutor/ Learning Development tutor/ Skills for Success tutor for one or more groups of students if required.
- Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses in alignment with academic policies.
