Job Description
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in a contracting company in Kuwait or the GCC region.
Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations, including customs regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks and opportunities.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement transportation and logistics plans, policies, and procedures for both material and personnel.
- Oversee the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from project sites, including coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage the stores both central and at sights.
- Monitor and manage transportation and logistics costs, including negotiating rates and managing budgets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including customs and transportation regulations.
- Manage the fleet of company vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on transportation and logistics performance, including key performance indicators such as on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation and logistics operations, including identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that transportation and logistics activities are aligned with project requirements.
