Job Description
The Life Protection Fire Safety (LPFS) Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing fire safety engineering projects, with a particular focus on large hotels and hospitality environments. This role requires extensive knowledge of fire safety engineering principles, fire protection systems, and building codes, along with significant experience in the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to deliver optimal fire safety solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage fire safety engineering projects from concept to completion, specifically within large hotels and hospitality environments.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and develop fire safety strategies tailored to the hospitality sector.
- Design and review fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, emergency lighting, and smoke control systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and international fire safety codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare and review fire safety engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate fire safety solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure fire safety measures are correctly implemented and maintained.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project objectives.
- Mentor and supervise junior fire safety engineers and technical staff.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelors degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
- Should be NFPA Certified, ideally Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in fire safety engineering, with a strong background in large hotels and hospitality projects.
- Extensive knowledge of fire safety engineering principles, fire protection systems, and relevant building codes.
- Proficiency in fire modeling software such as FDS, PyroSim, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as required.
