Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled candidate for the position of Laboratory-in-charge/Engineer. The ideal candidate should hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Geotechnical) and have at least 12 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Gulf region. Previous employment should be related to a similar profile, such as a senior Material Engineer in a reputed Third Party Laboratory or with a Blue Chip Civil Works/Road Works Contractor. Proficiency in relevant international standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and the Asphalt Institute is required, along with a strong understanding of laboratory management and ISO standards. The candidate should also possess a high level of computer literacy.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all tests and experiments are conducted accurately and efficiently. Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all laboratory activities meet relevant international standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and update laboratory procedures and protocols based on the latest standards and guidelines. Train and supervise laboratory staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all laboratory activities, including test results, equipment maintenance, and inventory management. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the laboratory. Stay updated with the latest developments in laboratory techniques, equipment, and standards, and implement any necessary changes or improvements. Ensure compliance with ISO standards and maintain a high level of quality management in the laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Geotechnical).
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Gulf region.
- Previous experience in a senior Material Engineer role in a reputed Third Party Laboratory or with a Blue Chip Civil Works/Road Works Contractor.
