Job Description for HR Manager (Factory Setting)

Position: HR Manager Industry: Manufacturing (Aluminum, Steel, Rebar, Joinery, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Staffing:Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring of blue-collar and white-collar workers. Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and maintain a skilled workforce.
  2. Employee Relations:Manage employee relations, resolve workplace conflicts, and ensure compliance with labor laws. Implement HR policies and procedures that align with the factory’s objectives and UAE labor laws. Conduct investigations when employee complaints or issues arise.
  3. Payroll & Benefits Administration:Supervise payroll processes, ensuring that employee wages and benefits are accurate and timely. Manage employee benefits programs such as health insurance, leave entitlements, and worker compensation.
  4. Performance Management:Implement performance appraisal systems to monitor employee progress and set performance goals. Work with line managers to develop performance improvement plans for underperforming staff.
  5. Training & Development:Organize training programs focused on improving skills, safety standards, and compliance with factory policies. Work with department leaders to identify development needs and provide training solutions.
  6. Compliance & Safety:Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the manufacturing environment. Implement safety training, ensure the factory complies with safety regulations, and participate in safety audits.
  7. Employee Engagement & Retention:Develop initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Plan team-building activities and reward programs to motivate employees.
  8. HR Reporting & Record Keeping:Maintain accurate employee records, including personal information, employment history, training certifications, etc. Prepare HR-related reports for senior management, such as employee turnover, retention rates, and headcounts.
  9. Labor Law & Compliance:Stay up-to-date with changes in labor laws and ensure that all HR practices comply with UAE legal requirements. Handle the renewal of visas and work permits for all employees, particularly those in blue-collar roles.
  10. Attendance & Disciplinary Actions:Monitor attendance and work hours, especially for production workers. Address and document any disciplinary issues and implement corrective measures when necessary. .

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of HR management experience, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector. Factory experience compulsory
  • Skills:Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in HR software and ERP systems. Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
