Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Field Service to lead our team of field service engineers specializing in turbomachinery and rotating equipment maintenance.
Based in Lachen, Switzerland, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and organizing the field service team to meet the profitability levels stated in the company’s strategic plans. This role requires a strategic leader with a mechanical service and maintenance background, particularly in field maintenance and service of steam turbines and centrifugal compressors.

Responsibilities

Team Development and Management 

  • Develop and organize the field service operation to meet strategic profitability goals. 
  • Lead a team of field service engineers in the turbomachinery and rotating equipment maintenance industry.
  • Provide in-house structure to meet multi-cultural and multi-legal customer requirements.
  • Hire, train, develop, or discharge field service personnel as necessary.
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture.

Technical Support and Sales Assistance

  • Provide technical assistance to the sales department for multi-discipline projects involving rerates, parts, repairs, and field service.
  • Support apparatus sales customer meetings and final negotiations to enhance the scope of supply for installation contracts.

Field Service Reporting and Feedback

  • Manage effective field service reporting to ensure proper feedback on product or contract issues.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Health & Safety Systems
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement Leader to develop and implement health & safety systems.
  • Ensure compliance with group targets, customer expectations, and legislative requirements.

Expense and Contribution Management

  • Control and drive expense and contribution levels for efficient operation.
  • Provide accurate forecasting information to the EMA leadership team.

Strategic Leadership and Collaboration 

  • Liaise with EMA and US operations to support the "One face to the customer" concept.
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership of EMA and assist in the development of five-year plans.

Customer Management and Alliances

  • Develop and maintain high-level customer management contacts. 
  • Assist in developing and recommending strategic alliances to enhance Elliott's Field Service position.
  • Support the development and implementation of long-term service contracts, including setting up local presences as required.

Qualifications

  • • Proven experience in leading and managing multi-lingual and multi-cultural field service teams.
  • • Strong mechanical service and maintenance background, with specific experience in field maintenance and service of rotating equipment, including steam turbines and centrifugal compressors.
  • • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • • Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to long-term planning and development.
  • • Strong understanding of health & safety systems and legislative requirements.
  • • Ability to manage expenses and contribute to profitability goals.
