Food Technology Manager – Sea Ocean Shipping LLC

Responsibilities

1. *Research and Development:*

- Oversee the development of new food products from concept to commercialization.

- Conduct research on new ingredients, technologies, and processes to improve product quality, safety, and shelf life.

- Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve food processing and production efficiency.

2. *Quality Control and Assurance:*

- Ensure all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

- Develop and maintain quality control systems and procedures.

- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production facilities.

- Address and resolve any quality issues or customer complaints.

3. *Regulatory Compliance:*

- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international food safety and quality regulations.

- Stay updated on changes in food safety laws and standards.

- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.

4. *Project Management:*

- Plan and oversee food technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, and sales.

- Monitor project progress and report on outcomes.

5. *Training and Supervision:*

- Train and mentor staff on food safety, quality control, and new technologies.

- Supervise and evaluate the performance of food technologists and other team members.

6. *Process Optimization:*

- Analyze and optimize food production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

7. *Documentation and Reporting:*

- Maintain accurate records of research, development, and quality control activities.

- Prepare detailed reports for management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

8. *Vendor and Supplier Management:*

- Evaluate and select raw material suppliers based on quality and cost criteria.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

- *Innovation:* Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in food technology to drive innovation within the company.

- *Safety Management:* Ensure that all food technology activities adhere to health and safety regulations to protect employees and consumers.

- *Budget Management:* Prepare and manage budgets for research and development projects and quality control activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. *Educational Background:*

- *Bachelor’s Degree:* Typically in food science, food technology, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.

- *Advanced Degree (Preferred):* Master's or Ph.D. in food science, technology, or a related discipline.

2. *Experience:*

- Several years of experience in food technology, food manufacturing, or a related field.

- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.

3. *Skills:*

- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (HACCP, ISO, FDA, etc.).

- Expertise in food processing techniques and technologies.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Proficiency in project management.

- Good communication and leadership skills.

- Familiarity with quality control procedures and laboratory testing.

4. *Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):*

- Certified Food Scientist (CFS)

- HACCP Certification

- ISO Certification

- Other relevant professional certifications.
