Job Description
A financial assistant is responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a financial department, for example, ensuring that the organisation has their bookkeeping in order for budgets and taxes. Preparing balance sheets, entering data into the system and updating financial records are some of the tasks involved.
Responsibilities
- Record and manage daily financial transactions, including billing, collections and payments.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and analysis of data.
- Process bank reconciliations and account balances.
- Assist in budgeting and expense control.
- Support tax filing and annual audit preparation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and files.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, with a background in finance, accounting or related fields.
- Proficiency in the use of financial software and MS Office applications.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and teamwork spirit.
- Familiarity with South African tax laws and financial regulations is preferred.
- Previous experience as a finance clerk or related work is preferred.
