Finance Director – Confidential Company
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Provide expert financial advice and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and senior management to enhance financial performance and support the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies that align with the organization’s goals and respond to market dynamics and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial strategies are integrated into business operations, driving overall organizational success.
Investment and Risk Management:
- Oversee the evaluation of investment opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and direct investments, providing sound financial analysis and strategic advice to support decision-making.
- Develop and manage the organization’s risk management framework, identifying potential financial risks and implementing measures to mitigate them.
- Lead the company’s efforts in optimizing capital structure and managing the balance sheet to support business growth and financial stability.
- Manage disinvestment strategies, including divestitures, to optimize financial performance and align with the organization’s long-term goals.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with legal, regulatory, and accounting standards across the group.
- Develop and implement financial controls and reporting systems to monitor performance, manage budgets, and provide financial insights to the Board and senior management.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the organization’s compliance with tax regulations, including effective tax planning and coordination with external consultants for tax filings and appeals.
Operational Financial Management:
- Direct the finance and treasury functions, including cash management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and liquidity management.
- Oversee the management of credit and stock control, ensuring efficient use of financial resources and maintaining financial stability.
- Lead efforts in optimizing operations through financial analysis, identifying areas for cost reduction, and improving operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, financial institutions, auditors, law firms, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across all departments to ensure financial alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
- Act as a key liaison between the Board of Directors, senior management, and external parties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on financial matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, or a related discipline; advanced certifications such as CPA, CA, CIMA, CMA, ACCA are highly preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in senior finance roles within complex, diversified business groups, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, investment analysis, risk management, and strategic planning.
- Experience in managing banking relationships, credit lines, financing arrangements, and leading digital transformation initiatives to drive financial operations excellence.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations, with experience in leading compliance efforts.
