Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. – Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. – Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for joinery and fit out projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine materials, labor, and equipment required for each project.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and address any issues or concerns.
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor bids and quotes for various project components.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project costs and progress to ensure adherence to budget and timeline.
- Provide support and guidance to project teams throughout the estimating and bidding process.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in order to provide accurate and informed estimates.
- Continuously improve estimating processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
