Job Description
JBT Building Contracting LLC is seeking a highly skilled Estimation Engineer with experience in civil contracting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various civil projects, ensuring that they align with project requirements and company standards
Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for civil contracting projects.
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs, considering current market rates and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates and support bid preparation.
- Identify potential project risks and incorporate contingency costs as necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and advancements in construction techniques.
- Assist in preparing detailed bid proposals and tender submissions for contracting projects.
- Monitor actual project costs versus estimated costs and report any discrepancies.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-7 years of experience as an Estimation Engineer in the civil contracting industry.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as strong Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating across departments.
- Thorough understanding of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
