Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct necessary repairs in a timely manner
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, lubricating parts, and replacing filters
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Collaborate with team members to resolve complex mechanical problems
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a fleet management or similar industry
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, including fuel systems, electrical systems, and emissions control systems
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL preferred but not required
