Department Head – Brand & Communications – Ooredoo

Responsibilities

You will be responsible of the following: Social Media • To manage the Social Media function strategically ensuring that all aspects of delivery as efficiently executed. Including: • All social media platforms including launching new platforms. Social Media content development and planning for the organization. • Social Influencer management and briefings including content development and delivery. • Community management in cooperation with universal teams to ensure tone of voice alignment and engagement including Issue resolution for complaints raised via social media platforms end to end. • Planning emergency messaging plans in emergency and crises situations in coordination with internal and external agencies • Platform engagement activities and follower growth development. • Regularly reviewing and amending internal social media policies and procedures as needed Branding & Media • To manage the Branding & Media Buying functions strategically ensuring that all aspects of delivery as efficiently executed. Including: • Manage the media planning and buying process and ensure spend is kept within the agreed thresholds. Media Buying & Branding • Manage the selection of channels proposed by the media buying in house team and or agency with the right timings and frequencies to deliver maximum impact in the market. • Negotiate, finalize and monitor annual media deals with suppliers. • Manage annual brand activities roadmap and ensure delivery as per plan. • Work with Ooredoo group on planned brand activities and align on major brand campaigns in Oman and regionally. • Work on brand related content and with ambassadors as per annual plans. • Support sponsorship activities in terms of branding and executions. • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure all events, locations, stores, offices, buildings are adequately and correctly branded. Strategy and Planning • Preparation of reporting and strategy documents as required and also for weekly ExCo meetings covering all areas above. • Liaising with all relevant business units to align messaging, obtain strategic direction, obtain timelines and all other input as required for monthly comms plans and to ensure smooth and aligned work-flow • You have a degree in English, Communication - Marketing or similar

Requirements:

Leadership • Coaching and mentoring • Ensures all staff have in place a performance contract, are regularly and accurately appraised and have a development plan which is executed. You have a degree in English, Communications or related field with: • Minimum 8+ years of experience, preferably within PR, SM, Branding, Media communications or a similar field involving tasks in these areas, in a similar size organisation. • At least 5 years at Manager level where PR plays a significant role. • In depth knowledge of communications planning and execution. • Strong understanding and experience of success measures. • Extensive experience in PR and media relations. • In depth understanding of brand messaging. • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications. • Fluent and of a native standard in written and spoken English Skills Required • Technical Skills: • Written English • Communications planning and execution • Ability to manage budgets • Business planning • Agency management • Reporting • Strategy development • Managing and developing people Behavioral Skills: • Communicating effectively • Strategic thinking • Planning and organising • Results focused • Influence & persuasion • Leadership • Teamwork • Delegate effectively to the team to provide opportunity for growth
