The Data Entry Clerk/Operator is responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and managing various types of data into computer systems and databases. The role requires attention to detail, speed, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities
Data Entry: Entering data from various source documents into the system within time limits. Data Verification: Reviewing data for accuracy and completeness; correcting errors and inconsistencies. Data Maintenance: Updating existing data and removing outdated information as necessary. File Management: Organizing and maintaining digital and paper records, ensuring that all files are correctly named and stored. Report Generation: Assisting in generating reports based on the entered data. Compliance: Ensuring that all data entry procedures comply with company policies and data protection regulations. Communication: Collaborating with other team members to clarify data discrepancies or gather additional information as needed. Required Skills: Typing Speed: Fast and accurate typing skills (typically around 40-60 words per minute). Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure data integrity. Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with data entry software, MS Office (especially Excel), and basic computer operations. Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members. Confidentiality: Understanding the importance of handling sensitive data with discretion. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may prefer candidates with an associate's degree or higher. Experience: Previous experience in data entry or a related administrative role is often preferred but not always required. Additional Requirements: Depending on the company, additional requirements might include knowledge of specific software, industry knowledge, or the ability to work in shifts. Work Environment: The job is typically performed in an office setting or remotely, depending on the employer. Some positions may require extended periods of sitting and using a computer.
