Customs Clearance Officer – Confidential Company

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and submitting customs documentation, including import declarations, permits, and licenses.
  • Calculating and verifying duties, taxes, and fees payable on shipments.
  • Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures for import shipments.
  • Coordinating with customs authorities and other relevant agencies to resolve any issues or delays in customs clearance.
  • Classifying goods according to customs regulations and determining the appropriate tariff codes.
  • Providing guidance and advice to colleagues and clients on customs procedures and regulations.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in customs regulations and procedures.
  • Conducting audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with customs requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to customs clearance.
  • Resolving customs-related disputes or discrepancies with clients and stakeholders.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international trade, logistics, or customs management.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customs clearance or related field.
  • Experience working in the import/export industry or with customs authorities.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant customs clearance software and systems.
  • Fluency in English and additional language skills preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
