Job Description
The chief accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization, requiring strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, budgets, and other reports for management and stakeholders.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations.
- Audit: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Systems and Processes: Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Taxation: Manage tax-related matters, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Advisory Role: Provide financial advice and support to management on strategic decisions.
