Job Description
Cardiothoracic anesthesiology is a sub-specialty of anesthesiology that focuses on the care of patients who are undergoing cardiothoracic surgery. As a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, you would monitor a patient’s blood pressure and heart rhythm during procedures such as open-heart surgery or a lung transplant.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and treating patients under the direction of the Chief resident and/or Consultant Staff.
- Fulfilling the role of Anaesthesia Senior Resident in his in line with accepted healthcare norms and protocols.
- . Ensuring the highest standards of patient wellbeing and safety.
- Documenting patients on admission and writing appropriate follow-up comments in the case notes.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Initiating and monitoring treatment.
- Instigating discussions with patients and relatives.
- Furthering own knowledge of diagnosis and management.
- Providing on call and routine service cover as appropriate.
- Fulfilling Theatre, CICU, CATH LAB and ward round commitments as appropriate.
- Performing such other related duties as may be required from time to time.
