Job Description

A Barista warmly welcomes customers into their establishment. They create and serve hot or cold beverages, often tailored to the customer’s preferences. They are responsible for taking customer orders and payments. They also clean and sanitize their work areas, seating areas and equipment/tools.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos, to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all customer preferences and dietary restrictions are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee machine, equipment, and utensils, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering their questions, and resolving any issues or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, including grinders, espresso machines, and drip coffee makers, to ensure optimal performance and quality.
  • Prepare and package food items, such as pastries and sandwiches, according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Manage cash register and handle financial transactions accurately, including processing payments, providing change, and issuing receipts.
  • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies, and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock and prevent shortages.
