BAKERY CHEF / PASTRY CHEF – Artisan District Food Factory
Responsibilities
Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Head Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a luxury hotel, bakery, or high-end restaurant
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry arts
- Creative flair with the ability to develop and execute new and seasonal menu items
- Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Certification from a culinary school or apprenticeship program is preferred
Desired Candidate Profile
- Locally available in Qatar with valid QID and NOC
- Can join immediately
- Knowledge of different types of bread and pastries
- Understanding of various baking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- BS degree in culinary science or related certificate would be a plus
