Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Manager to join our dynamic team in the construction industry in Manama, Bahrain. The Planning Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing project planning and scheduling, ensuring that all construction projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and leading a team of planners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in construction planning and a deep understanding of project management methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying any potential issues or delays and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates to management and team members on schedule adherence and progress against milestones.
- Prepare and present reports on project schedules, resource allocation, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources required for project execution.
- Lead a team of planners, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure successful project planning and execution.
- Utilise risk management techniques to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in construction planning and project management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to analyse complex information and develop actionable plans to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required for project oversight and meetings.
Salary:
BHD 3,000 to 4,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
