Procurement Officer – Veolia
Responsibilities
- Initiating quotes to the Suppliers based on the previous purchase data and liaising with the site team for contact details of Suppliers. (the focus is on the local Suppliers and purchases) - Comparison of the quotes technically (confirmed by the engineer) and commercially from the earlier purchase and notifying the Procurement Manager on the price escalation. - Preparing the Purchase Order for both local and overseas Purchase Orders upon finalisation of quotes (the Procurement Manager will finalise Overseas Quotes) in Navision with the approved quote. - Follow up for the PO approval in Navision with approvers. - Issuing the Purchase Order to the Local Suppliers. For overseas Suppliers to liaise with the Procurement Manager - Tracking and Follow-up for the deliveries. - Assisting in preparing the draft contracts and official letters in coordination with the Procurement Manager. Logistics: - Coordinate with the local transporter and supplier on the materials collection from Oman Suppliers and delivery of the same to Plant. - Ensuring the materials are delivered and getting validation from the End User on the receipts. - Coordinate with the transport/courier in case of goods return and inform the Supplier via email on the same. - Generation of AWB for the couriers (DHL / Fedex) and preparing the Shipping documents for sending the materials to Overseas Vendors. Finance: - Issuing GRN and Invoice copy on the Invoice Tracker. - Handling petty cash (which includes small cash purchases, preparing cash purchase statements & cash reconciliation at the end of the month. - Receiving invoices from, follow up on supplies - Followup and coordinate with an accountant for the invoice payments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPP) is a plus. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry. - Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. - Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with local and international procurement regulations and best practices. - Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. Salary: OMR 500 to 700 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
