- Have an expert understanding of the environment and climate change science and its implications.
- Expertise in developing and implementing environment strategies and plans programs and setting environment key performance indicators especially in oil and gas business.
- Expertise in developing and implementing climate affairs and decarbonization strategies.
- Expertise in developing and implementing environment sustainability programs.
- Expertise in preparing high level Environment and climate affairs report.
- Expertise in managing and leading high level environmental and climate affairs technical teams and representing the organization in high level forums.
- Understanding of current environmental and climate change issues and trends.
- Expert on analysing, interpreting, and advising on environmental and climate affairs data.
- Expert on developing and presenting reports and presentations.
- Ability to cope with uncertainties and knowledge on how they will influence the business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess analytical thinking in data analysis.

- Computer knowledge in MS Office applications like MS Word, MS excel.

- Deep knowledge of Environmental concepts, processes, practices, and practical/operational implementation.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: The main task of an Environment Expert is to support to provide an environmental and climate affairs strategic advice and support in terms of policies and programs. As well to identify, develop and implement environmental and climate change mitigation strategies. In addition, responsible for monitoring, reporting and evaluating the effectiveness of environmental and climate change initiatives and programs. This role involves working with internal and external stakeholders and to align with the national and international directions. The position will act in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported. Reports directly to the Manager HSE Planning and Support. Interacts with Field HSE Specialists and Officers, Quality Team, Security Team, Process Safety Team, Head Office Staff and Environmental Team, QHSSE Vice President. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide an expert matter technical advice on environmental and climate change strategies and programs, with a specific focus on monitoring, mitigation, and adaptation.
- Assure compliance and track applicable environmental laws & regulations for Gas Network operations and evaluate the potential impact of these laws on business and operations.
- Maintain oversight of the environmental performance of existing activities to ensure the operations and new activities meet all the regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
- Foreseen the future environmental and climate affairs issues and their likely impact on operations and project activities and develop integrated plans and strategies with affected stakeholders to address the issues in the most efficient and effective manner.
- Identify strategic partnership and resources in area of Environment and climate change.
- Advice on financial aspects of carbon markets and carbon trading framework schemes.
- Liaise internally and externally and act as a focal point with regards to climate change and GHG issues.
- Review and guide the new projects with regards to climate change areas.
- Assess and evaluate climate change risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
- work closely with other departments and external stakeholders, including government and non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to ensure that relevant climate change policies and programs are implemented effectively.
