            Role PurposeThe Road Safety Snr Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating road safety programs and initiatives to minimize road accidents and enhance overall traffic safety throughout NEOM Region.   This role involves strategic planning, cross sector engagement, policy development, and collaboration with various stakeholders to implement effective road safety measures.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive road safety strategies and action plans in line with national and international best practice.
  • Design and oversee road safety programs, including educational campaigns, training sessions, and community outreach activities aimed at promoting safer driving behaviors.
  • Analyze traffic data, accident reports, and road safety statistics to identify trends, high-risk areas, and the effectiveness of existing safety measures.
  • Work with government agencies and local authorities to develop and enforce road safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, transportation departments, and community organizations to coordinate road safety efforts.
  • Conduct regular road safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for road safety projects and initiatives, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Prepare detailed reports on road safety performance, project progress, and outcomes for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for drivers, road users, and other stakeholders on road safety best practices.
  • Lead public awareness campaigns, including the creation of educational materials, social media content, and public service announcements to promote road safety.
  • Work with emergency services to develop and implement plans for responding to road traffic incidents.

 

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with government agencies or in public administration.
  • Certification in road safety or traffic management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, civil engineering, public safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in road safety management, traffic engineering, or a related role, 15 year+.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and accident prevention strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
Qualifications
  • Certification in road safety or traffic management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation management, civil engineering, public safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in road safety management, traffic engineering, or a related role.
