Job Description
This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP** Under the direct supervision of the Movement Control Team Manager, the Senior Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the development of logistical plans, policies, and procedures necessary to provide support in the logistics areas of supply, transportation, maintenance, and services.
Responsibilities
- Recommends and coordinates the logistics support structure to perform the logistics functions of the project; coordinates the interface between logistics functions such as transportation, maintenance and warehousing to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective support to the customer.
- Troubleshoots problem areas in logistics and coordinates problem resolution or recommends solutions to management.
- Coordinates with customers to ensure desired logistics objectives, priorities, and schedules are met and communicated to management.
- Analyzes work processes and develops metrics for measurement of performance; coordinates with Environmental, Safety, and other Shared Services functional areas as appropriate regarding logistical functions performed under contract.

- Monitor the workload of Supervisors and Movement Coordinators.
- Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in the assessment.

- Oversees requested, coordinated and monitored and prepared transport schedules.

- Analyzes shipments based on regulations and policies on travel procedures, and travel restrictions to make sound decisions.
- Manages internal and external standard operating procedures (SOP) to include any new developments to enable the section to function more efficiently.
- Prepares and briefs weekly and monthly reports to senior level management as required.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues that may arise with service.
- Uses Container Management to manage, track, and maintain accountability of shipping containers
- Ensure full involvement in continuous improvement initiatives, utilize tools to improve productivity, performance, and inventory management. Interprets and executes corporate policies, develop budgets, and perform fiscal management responsibilities.
- Responsible for on-going management and development of assigned employees.
- Establish employee goals and provide direct feedback on a regular basis.
- Assign tasks, review work, and provide direction to staff while ensuring logistics processes are met within established timelines.
- Employ continuous improvement framework to improve inventory accuracy and reduce instances of non-compliance.
- Continuously monitor and improve the working environment to ensure a safe workplace.
- Ensure strict compliance to safety practices in accordance
- Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains historical data on all movements

- Qualifications MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
- Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, EXCEL and Outlook.
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Work in extremely hot, cold, or rainy weather.
- Repetitive and physically demanding, work at great heights, exposed to harmful materials, fumes, and odors.
- Bending, stretching, and lifting in tight enclosed spaces. Refer to the general physical requirement, physical activities, visual acuity, and working conditions checklist for more information.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High school graduate or equivalent Must be able to obtain a Kuwait Driving License Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a USG CAC card
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years experience in Logistic field operation may include but not limited to; truck dispatching, import/export, cargo shipping/receiving, transportation, customer service, negotiations or other related experience.
- Supervisory experience required with regard to shipping and receiving services, military or civilian.
- Skills: Team oriented; possess excellent organizational, time management skills.
- Must be computer and software literate, experienced in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required.
- Knowledgeable in HAZMAT requirements and know how to process TMRs, and TCMDs.
- Familiar with U.S. military branches of service. Ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
